Countdown for GUIdance International Contemporary Dance Festival (Portugal)

In Guimarães, northern Portugal, the GUIdance International Contemporary Dance Festival offers a stage for the world's greatest artists, excelling in the field.

Taking place from February 5 to 14, 2026, the GUIdance festival is a true celebration of contemporary dance in Europe. This 15th edition will also feature world premieres by Akram Khan, Marie Chouinard and many other new creations.

In addition, and not least, GUIdance focuses on diversity and ecology.

The historic city of Guimarães

In 2012, Guimarães was elected European Capital of Culture, along with Maribor in Slovenia. For 2026, Guimarães has once again been declared Europe's Green Capital. In this city in northern Portugal, medieval roots go hand in hand with modern art and ecology.
