According to TMZ, the singer is "somewhere in the United States", in a treatment center. She has voluntarily chosen to enter a rehab program.

This choice follows her arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs on March 4 in Ventura, California. The very next day, upon her release, one of the star's lawyers gave an interview to People magazine, declaring that this "unfortunate incident" was "totally inexcusable".

In an official statement, Britney Spears' team detailed their decision: "Britney will take the right steps and comply with the law, and we hope this will be the first step in a long overdue change in her life. Let's hope she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."

In addition, her representative highlighted the essential role played by the singer's entourage in this period of upheaval: "Her boys will be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to put together a long-overdue plan for her to succeed in feeling good."

The American performer had two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline: Sean Preston and Jayden James. Unfortunately, this is not her first visit to a treatment center. She had already been taken into care and supported in 2007, 2009 and 2019, when she was under guardianship.
