Taylor Swift fans were right: the star has written an original song for "Toy Story 5"

"You knew it! My new original song 'I Knew It, I Knew You,' written for the Disney and Pixar film 'Toy Story 5,' will be available on June 5."

That’s what Taylor Swift wrote on her social media on June 1, before revealing that she’s been a huge fan of the characters in the franchise ever since the very first movie came out in 1995.

Rumors had been circulating for several weeks now, with fans of the 36-year-old singer wondering about her possible involvement in the soundtrack for the highly anticipated “Toy Story 5,” which is set to hit theaters on June 17. Buzz Lightyear, Woody the cowboy, and the whole merry band of toys will once again face a major challenge: surviving the digital age and not getting overwhelmed by technological competition, particularly from tablets.

It all began when a countdown suddenly appeared on the star’s website. It was displayed against a background that strongly resembled the wallpaper pattern in the bedroom of the original film’s hero, Andy. In early June, speculation ran wild when new promotional posters featuring the same pattern along with the initials “TS” were shared by both the franchise and the artist.

All that was left was for Taylor Swift herself to put the speculation to rest.
