The scary moment Penélope Cruz experienced on set

While filming the movie La Bola Negra, the Spanish actress suffered a tremendous shock. In an interview with Net-a-Porter magazine, she revealed that she had received a distressing call from her doctor.

Just as she was about to shoot a scene for her new film, Penélope Cruz’s doctor contacted her to inform her that she was likely suffering from a brain aneurysm.

Despite her panic, the 52-year-old actress managed to keep her composure and continue filming a crucial scene in which her character, a cabaret artist, sings in front of an audience of soldiers. After long hours of waiting and anxiety, further tests revealed it was a false alarm.

This kind of scare isn’t a first for the star, who remains very vigilant:“I’ve had a lot of scares like that,” Penélope Cruz told the British magazine.“Fortunately, I’m fine. It was a false alarm. But I’m concerned about my health; I take care of myself. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I really don’t party. Without your health, you have nothing.”

Directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, La Bola Negra is an LGBTQ+ musical drama set across three key periods in Spanish history (1932, 1937, and 2017). The film is scheduled for theatrical release on December 16.
