“It may seem strange, but Johnny was incredibly sentimental. He was a romantic. From time to time, he’d let himself sing songs like this,” explains the author of “Des comme toi, y en a plus.”

To better understand the origins of this song, Xavier Perrot, the curator of the artist’s musical legacy, offers this insight: “It’s sometimes difficult to determine with certainty the dates or origins of certain recordings, since not everything is always clearly identified. It’s highly likely that this song comes from a recording session in April 1973 at Ferber Studios in Paris.”

Introduced by the harmonica, this tender declaration of love to Sylvie Vartan carries the hope of winning her back and “rekindling the flame” following controversies surrounding a possible affair with Nanette Workman.
